Who’s having an AMAZING Tuesday?! 🙋🏼‍♀️ I am!! Not because anything amazon has happened. In fact, we all woke up late scrambled to get out the door on time, and the car battery was dead. Like dead dead. Like garbage can dead... so $150 later we have a battery. Not really what you’d expect to be the start of an amazing day. But it’s all in how you choose to look at everything. So I’m strutting around in a blizzard with a big smile on my face because I’m CHOOSING to be a happy person even in the face of adversity. #makingthehappylife
Never in a million years could I have realized how much a daughter would change me!! I’ve hated pink and matching others my whole life and what did I wear to church today?? Me and Evelynn were twinners in pink!! She’s only been here for a minute and my heart has already learned so much and I can’t help but wonder what’s to come! It’s hard to think that one day she be a grown woman growing her family just like I am.
I just wrote a blog post on the FIRST 5 things you should do once you get engaged!! Go read it and tell me what you think!
Valentine’s 💕 morning was almost as exciting as Christmas morning in my home growing up. I wasn’t always sure what I would find down on the table, but I always hoped 🤞🏻 it would be what I thought it was!! I’d always rush downstairs and I was never disappointed!! 🙌🏻 As a mom, I now realize the effort that my mom put in to making that a special day for us kids. It started late the night before, after we had all went to sleep 😴 , and continued till at least midnight. She started by making some sugar cookie dough. After carefully rolling it out to the perfect thickness, she cut out hearts ♥️, and while they were baking, she made the frosting. Different colors too! After the cookies finished and cooled, she carefully hand decorated a special cookie for everyone in my family. And this wasn’t an ordinary cookie!! It was a BREAKFAST cookie. She never made us eat a real breakfast on Valentines. It was always cookies, candy hearts 💕 , and chocolates 🍫!! It was one of the little things she always did that let me know how much she loved and cared about me.

Now I’m a mom!! And I’m learning how time consuming these little tiny things can be. But Valentines comes once a year. And cookies for breakfast comes once a year. And I love my kids SO BIG!!! So I’m continuing the tradition that my mom started and tonight I’ll be up late making those cookies while continuing my photography education. And one day, those cute little blonde haired blue eyed boys will feel the same way that I do about my mom on Valentines. And that makes it all worth while to me!! 🥰🥰
After 100,000 miles of my own journey, totaling up to 280,000 miles, we upgraded our ugly green van. I’m sure all my brides and grooms will miss me showing up to sessions in it, especially since it was a great conversation starter, but we were starting to wonder if it would even get me to the sessions and weddings!! We had so many adventures in that van!! A we’re super excited to continue all the adventures in our NEW and IMPROVED Sienna!!! And I’m still swooning over the motorized doors and stow away back seats! Go see how pretty it is in my stories!!
Yesterday was one of those long hard days that you just want to curl up into a ball and cry on the bathroom floor. There was no explanation for it other than HORMONES. Every lady’s worst enemy. Trying to cope with it, I gave myself a spa night.

With a mud mask on my face, making me look like some kind of strange smurf, I went down stairs to get a last drink of water before hitting the sack to put crazy lady to bed, when I heard our song start to play.

My husband ran up the stairs, taking me by the hand, we started to dance. His timing couldn’t have been more perfect — or worse!! Every time he looked at me, his face would crack and I’d bashfully burry it back into his shoulder where he couldn’t see me.
But at the end of the song, he pulled back, and in all seriousness and all the hearts coming from those sparkly eyes, he told me he loved me and gave me a kiss.

Then we both laughed together and I ran away to wash it off. 🙈😅 Ladies, find yourself THAT kind of man. Someone who knows all the little tricks to set your heart on 🔥 and knows just the right way to love you when you feel your worse and look your worse. There is nothing more beautiful than that. And once you find him, come find me and I’ll capture all those tender glances, laughter together, and all the joy in your relationship!!
